Independence and Integrity:

Editorial decisions are taken independently of external influences, including advertisers, sponsors, or any other potential conflicts of interest. Peronal or financial interests that may be (or may be perceived to be) a conflict should be disclosed by writers and editors. 

Transparency:

We are transparent about our sources. The exception is in circumstances where whistleblowers call attention to information of substantial public interest, and that information is independently verified (and all parties are given the opportunity and appropriate time to comment prior to publication.

We are transparent in our news-gathering methodologies. We provide a right of reply to any organisation or person mentioned in news reporting, and evaluate all sides of a story critically when weighing a decision to publish.

Sponsored content and advertorials are clearly labelled as "Partner Content" or "Promoted Content", and are not categorised as "news", to distinguish them from regular editorial. This content may be written by an iTnews journalist, or supplied by the sponsor. Either way, they fund and have complete control of this content.

Respect and Diversity:

At iTnews, we celebrate diverse perspectives and opinions and strive to represent them in our content. We foster a respectful and inclusive environment, including in our user comment forums. We actively remove content that is discriminatory, promotes hate speech, is uncivil or that may be deemed as harmful towards individuals or groups.

We encourage constructive and meaningful discussion, and will moderate and remove any posts that do not meet these standards.
